TECHNOLOGY, KEY TO SOCIO-ECONOMIC ADVANCEMENT, SAYS TASUED VC
…Marks second year in office
The Vice Chancellor of Tai Solarin University of Education, ijagun, Ogun State, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu has stressed the need for youths to embrace the modern-day technological know-how in order to uplift the socio-economic development of the country.
Prof. Arigbabu made this call during an interactive session held with both staff and students of Tai Solarin University of Education Secondary School (TASUESS), Ijebu Ode as part of the activities marking his second year in office.
The Vice Chancellor assured staff and students of the school that the Management of the University would not rest on its oars by making teaching and learning more conducive, through the use of modern technology, thereby, carving the school’s name on the world map.
The Vice Chancellor, therefore, thanked the entire members of the Board of TASUESS, led by Dr. Dele Sogbesan for their unalloyed support in the last two years he has been in office as the Vice Chancellor.
In her welcome remarks, Principal of the School, Mrs. Beatrice Olaniyan commended the sagacity of the Vice Chancellor for his commitment and zeal towards the growth of TASUESS, with a promise that both teaching and non-teaching members of staff will strive hard by ensuring that the school remains the first of its kind in Ogun State in particular and Nigeria as a whole.
A mathematics Laboratory donated by Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, was later commissioned at the Tai Solarin College of Education Staff School, with a promise that the one for TASUESS would be ready during his third year in office.
Other members of the Management team, Deans of Colleges, Directors of Centres and Deputy Registrars were also in attendance.
Meanwhile, the second anniversary celebration of the Vice Chancellor started earlier with a Health Walk/Aerobics and Interdenominational prayers.
